A business event organised by independent not-for-profit company Destination Basingstoke last month has received positive feedback from local businesses.
‘Be Inspired’ took place last month at Belvedere House in Basing View Business Park on 19th April. The event consisted of a number of speakers, workshops and seminars on various business topics and niches.
Free to attend for local businesses, the goal of the event was to help and advice all attendees with the knowledge needed to succeed in business, as well as serve as a networking platform for local companies in the community. Exhibition stands were also available for anyone looking to showcase their work to those in attendance.
Some key takeaways from Be Inspired included seminars on VAT and self-employment from HMRC, an AXA talk regarding the importance of pensions and a guide to utilising Social Media Marketing from Shoosmiths to name a few. The day also consisted of a networking lunch.
Nick Hewer, Lord Sugar’s right hand man in BBC TV show The Apprentice, also spoke at the event.
At the end of the day Hewer stated, “I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Basingstoke, meeting so many businesses and entrepreneurs and seeing how a partnership approach to business support is so very effective.”
“Well done to Destination Basingstoke for taking the initiative and putting together such an inspiring – and useful - event”
