Portsmouth Northern Quarter development moving forwards
October 30, 2014 by admin
Last year a consultation process was held regarding the redevelopment of Portsmouth’s former Tricorn site. Plans about the transformation have been discussed for almost 10 years with plenty of enthusiasm for the project – a new leisure and shopping complex would be welcome.
Costing £300m the project would be developed by Centros who have given assurances the scheme is moving along. Many were left wondering what was happening after things went quiet in the wake of the consultation.
Centros recently announced it was enthusiastically trying to move things forward but the right balance of uses for the site has to be struck. Residential, office and employment space needs to compliment educational, cultural and public facilities. Centros is in discussions with Portsmouth City Council to find the ‘best fit’ scenario. Once this has been achieved a planning application will be submitted.
